Salomon: a real model shot on green screen inside AI-generated environments

Runway says a Paris studio storyboarded 30 shots with AI, cast a model resembling the generated character, and shot two days on green screen.

WHAT THEY DID

Unveil built a 30-shot storyboard in Runway to pitch the concept, used it as pre-visualization on a two-day shoot with a 60-person crew, filmed a cast model on green screen, placed her in generated environments, and swapped objects and backgrounds in the footage. The campaign also ran in print in stores.

HOW IT WENT

The founders estimate a CGI or fully live-action version would have taken about twice as long with a 10 to 15 person CGI team. No audience or sales results are reported.

WORTH KNOWING

The time comparison is the studio’s estimate in a vendor story. A real crew and model were still central to the work.
