WHAT THEY DID
Trek’s team builds photoreal twins in Cinema 4D with Substance 3D, recreates custom paint schemes in Substance 3D Painter, places decals from Illustrator artwork, corrects renders in Photoshop, animates in After Effects, and reuses an approved design on another model by duplicating the project and swapping the mesh.
HOW IT WENT
The article reports workflows 25% faster, twins made up to three times faster than physical samples, and about 100 final renders a month.
WORTH KNOWING
Vendor-published and credits the gains to the vendor’s tools. A 3D product pipeline is a large investment, more relevant to studios than solo designers.
