WHAT THEY DID

Intercom’s creative studio now designs in Figma, exports SVGs (unchecking “Outline text” to keep files small), animates in Rive and connects the animation to the site, replacing an After Effects pre-comp and rendering process that kept pulling in engineers. All existing animations were recreated.

HOW IT WENT

The story reports process time at 20% of before and halved file sizes, for example 1.49 MB to 831 KB on one animation, and four animations shipped in a day.

WORTH KNOWING

Vendor-published; the file-size figures cover two animations. The team first held off switching because learning a new tool could have put a launch deadline at risk.
