Figma's AI content training is on by default for Starter and Professional teams
Figma's help center says content training is on by default for Starter and Professional and off for Organization and Enterprise.

WHAT HAPPENED
Figma’s help center says AI content training is on by default for Starter and Professional teams and off by default for Organization and Enterprise plans. Team admins on Starter and Professional can switch it off at any time. It took effect on August 15, 2024.
WHAT IT MEANS
When it’s off, new content and edits aren’t used to train AI models. Drafts count only if they sit in a team where training is on.
WORTH KNOWING
Only admins can change it, not individual collaborators. If you work on client files in a Starter or Professional team, ask the admin what it’s set to, especially if a client NDA applies.

4TC interpretation
Our reading, not something the source says.
Freelancers on free or low-tier plans may be contributing client work to AI training without having chosen to. Client contracts often have confidentiality terms that this touches.
Designer impact
Whether your files can contribute to AI training depends on your Figma plan and on a team admin's setting, not on an individual's account setting.
Benefits
- Figma says it's an admin-controlled setting and can be turned off on Starter and Professional.
Established [1]
Content training is enabled by default on Starter and Professional plans, so the burden of opting out falls on the team admin.
Company response: Figma says admins can turn content training off at any time in team settings.
- If you're a team admin on Starter or Professional, check the content training setting in team settings.
- If you work in someone else's team, ask the admin what it's set to.
- Read the help article for what content is covered, including how drafts are treated.
